Pride is getting to the Priestly tribe and seek ungodly results. Once again Moses counters God’s reaction and God gets the 250 anyways.
We make life hard on ourselves when we try to manipulate God’s plan. He does everything for a reason and we are to join in and not reason a different outcome.
God, You got the big picture, help me see your call for me and seek your result
God tries so hard to relate to us and to get us to come out of a sacrificial world into His kingdom.
He is trying to get Israel to see God Through this sacrificial system they have known from being and resorting to all the pagan god’s of the day.
He understands when we are being intentional and unintentional but not when we chose to be defiant.
Jesus Christ is the example we are to follow and the sacrifice for our sin. And we are called to walk his path and not our own.
We can try to change the will of God. We can attempt to rewrite the Bible and make it say what we want over what God said. But in the end He will have His way.
Do not fight God. Moses was able to save the next generation from God’s wrath and God was okay with that. He is in control and does have a forgiving Heart. Up to a point.
God, give me the passion of Moses so that I might fight for those who are trying to destroy your kingdom here on earth.
Let me be the leader
God said, “send them”. Did they surprise God by being doubtful? No! Disappointed? Possibly. His plan was getting us there. Our choices and doubt where self induced. Respectfully putting my words in God mouth, I would be asking myself, “What more do I have to do to show these people my love and desire for them? Let go of your fears and trust me? He decides “Ah forget about it. Let’s go wonder 40 Year and kill of this generation of leaders as see if their kids will get it?”
Depending on how you decipher the relationship Moses has with Miriam and Aaron, they may be the brother and sister (and prophetess) to Moses.
Consider your “layman’s” position in the church. Here and in life you are evaluated or judged by that relationship and how you reflect His kingdom.
Do you add to the Godly wisdom of the church or do you degrade it?
Earlier in this book Moses was not selfishly concerned about others being praised, whom were professing the message
Out of the frying pan into the fire!
As I read this the first time I am thinking, “why God?”All they want is something different to eat; “Heck, this awesome God can do better then this”. And I ask, why did God get all fired up (literally)?
Lead us not into temptation right? So they temped God with “you can do better then this”. But deliver us from evil. That didn’t work either.
God please don’t allow my ignorance of you allow me to “fire you up”. Allow me to be sati
At a time: rituals (of the trumpet in this case) had a place to involve the people in the tribes of Israel. Especially when God directed. God even directed Numerous tribes to specific tasks during the movements.
The challenge for us is when God’s assignment becomes prideful. Don’t allow it to consume you and forget about the Lord and His words.
Always seek a way to serve the Lord and His church but never allow your service get in the way of your relationship with Him.
Whenever the Bible talks about this time period I often reflect on the individual amongst the thousands.
I am confident of the “presence of the Lord“ through the Holy Spirit today. He has been with me all my life. But to be transparent, there are times where I could use a voice or a sign (cloud) that God is here! I ask myself this question: Would I have been a better follower seeing this cloud both day and night (even a night light to penetrate the darkness)?
If I was one
Stand up and be counted! Be bold for the Lord. Do not allow the world to mark you and claim you as one of them.
The calling is never about us.
I like the blessing at the end:
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ’”
Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
Burnt. Grain. Sin. Fellowship. All offerings with the sacrifice of God’s creatures which came from their works.
From the Life they are coming from, they are honoring God with these gifts.
What value do we place on God?
They understood what was asked of them and at this time they are complying.
Jesus has done all our heavy lifting and all we need to do is lead a righteous life. No blood on our hands.
Give to His Church the tithe that comes as a sacrifice so His
